Global 5000 updates 15 Mar 08
During the past week, we updated 270 Global 5000 company records.
The largest companies for this week were:
ExxonMobil at $404 billion
Chevron with $220 billion
Ford reporting $172 billion.
These three companies as a group grew 6.7% last year. This is right in line with the entire set of companies we updated at 6.9% annual revenue jump.
Biggest gainers among the group were:
Freeport-McMoRan (192%) on the strength of the Phelps-Dodge acquisition
DreamWorks Animation SKG (94%)
Iberdrola (68%) with the Scottish Power acquisition.
On the flip side, these companies reported the largest declines in revenue.
Norsk Hydro (-50%) with the sell off of their oil business to Statoil
Ryland Group (-36%)
Building Materials Holding (-29%)
Productivity – as measured by revenue per employee grew 5.8% over the year.
